Impressions:
Other than the title, this film has nothing to do with Zombi 2 other than some of the people involved. It had quite a troubled production and the end result is quite a mess. The inciting incident is basically lifted from Return of the Living Dead, but they forgot to carry over any of that film's charm. I didn't have much to say about Zombi 2's characters, but there was a lot more going on in that film. About the only thing I have to say about this movie is that it's one of the early instances of fast zombies, with some demonstrating some actual fighting ability and the capacity for speech. There's a bit of DOOM 3 monster closet syndrome and those buggers have a bad habit of inexplicable dropping in from the ceiling. Then there's the one scene where the Army's mopup crew fights like the Putties from Power Rangers. Makeup and gore effects aren't great and none of the kills are particularly memorable. I kinda liked the score, but that's about it. I can't recommend this, so unless you're just marathoning Italian B-movies, pass on this.
