Wolfen (1981)

Wolfen (1981)

Director: Michael Wadleigh
Starring: Albert Finney, Diane Venora, Edward James Olmos

Synopsis:
A New York detective investigates a string of brutal murders that resemble animal attacks.

Impressions:
This is a so-so urban horror that has a few things going for it. One: I think it's really effective that they don't actually show the wolves until three-quarters into the movie. Two: The music by James Horner makes me think of Aliens, which is always nice. The acting is decent and the story builds at a good enough pace. I don't really have any complaints about it, but I wasn't really blown away either. The main draw for me was the James Horner music, but maybe I just want to watch Aliens again.
