Synopsis:
The president of a trashy cable channel in search of new programming becomes obsessed with an underground show called Videodrome.

Impressions:
I don't really know what to say about this movie. I mean, it's Cronenberg through and through. Body horror, psychosexual creepery and mind screws up the wazoo. It's some disturbing stuff, but there's some interesting commentary about the video age. You have to wonder how similar themes would be handled regarding the current age of Internet media stimuli hypersaturation. James Woods is quite good, showing off a fair bit of range as main character Max Renn. Because of the disturbing nature of the subject matter and the general obtuseness, I certainly can't recommend this to everybody, but if you're a Cronenberg fan, then you'll probably want to give this a watch if you haven't already.
