Howling V: The Rebirth (1989)
Director: Neal Sundstrom
Starring: Phil Davis, Victoria Catlin, Elizabeth Shé
Synopsis:
Foreign guests are invited to a Hungarian castle that had been sealed for 500 years under mysterious circumstances.
Impressions:
While this film has better production values than what I've seen of the series thus far, it really didn't feel that much like a werewolf story. It's a "Ten Little Indians" scenario with the werewolf element duct-taped on. This wouldn't have been a bad thing, but I never connected to any of the characters, who tended to range from bland to unlikable (though ditzy Marylou was kinda funny for being so incredibly dumb). As a result, I never felt particularly invested in the story and so I can't give it much of an endorsement. Maybe it'll do something for you and maybe it won't.
