Synopsis:
An occultist and his war buddy struggle to save the son of their fallen friend from a Satanic cult.

Impressions:
This is the sort of movie I've been waiting for, a Hammer film that fully utilizes Christopher Lee's talents. I've stated before in many of his other Hammer films that his physical presence leaves a strong enough impression, but once you give him lines, then he really shines. I think all this buildup pretty well clues you in that Lee is great as Duc de Richleau. It's a really strong performance. Charles Gray is pretty good as the Satanic priest Mocata and James Bond fans'll probably get a kick out of Scaramanga vs. Blofeld. The rest of the cast isn't as powerful, but they do their jobs well and there are some good character dynamics going on. I don't think I'm exaggerating to call this one of the best of Hammer's films. Definitely give this one a watch.
