It turns out that I’m quite fond of Azuki, to the point where I might make Maya jealous if I’m not careful. Seriously, though, my work did a lot to help me figure out how I wanted to integrate her into the story beyond a mere cameo. I then got to thinking about leaving poor Root to lose his girl before he even meets her in this universe, but I then got the idea for a potential gaiden starring him that would replace the Benefide Expedition with a mission to destroy the new Hell Gate. Azuki will be a little more worldly than in her original story due to the events of OreHosa, but that might do some fun things for her and Root’s relationship in this continuity. In the wee hours (long past the point I should’ve gone to bed with work in the morning), I decided to go ahead and add Matt from the Tico series. (Speaking of male characters who roles I worry about being displaced…)<\/p>\n
I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve outpaced my archival work, so I’m in quite a state. Add to it all the work-work I have this week and the couple dozen other things I want to get to, I’ve got all sorts of fun times ahead. I’ll see whatever I can get done. Stay tuned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Well, if we count image generation as brainstorming for plot beats in the story, I’ve actually been doing a huge amount of work on OreHosa over the past few days.
