Impressions:
As we move toward the endgame of the series, I find myself with a divided opinion. On the one hand, I'm someone who wasn't all that satisfied with how the original story developed post-timeskip, so seeing a story I wasn't that fond of play out is hardly a feel-good experience. On the other, I have to admit that the material is adapted well and we get some powerful moments that are definitely worth the price of admission. If there was contention in the first half of this season, there will be even more now as Eren's true intentions are revealed. Part of me appreciates how it's all woven in but another part isn't at all happy and longs for what we had at the beginning of the series. Worse for me is the discourse surrounding the series, particularly with Eren's plan. And just when I thought my faith in humanity had bottomed out... Let's just say if the commenters ever decide to throw themselves into practical applications of what they claim to support, Hitler, Stalin and Mao will look like Girl Scouts. Anyway, if you actually like the turn the story's taken, you should be bowled over and even if not, I think the slick production and effective execution will still leave you finding it worth your while. I can't get behind the recommendation 100%, but I'm still going to say this warrants a place in your collection.
