Impressions:
I really didn't like Die Hard 4, so I wasn't terribly interested in giving this film a shot. At least there wasn't any PG-13 soft-serve this time around, but I can't say we fare much better for it. There's good action and the plot isn't nearly as dumb as the previous entry, but I found the character of Jack McLane immensely unlikable, to the point that I'd take back Justin Long as Bruce Willis' second, and let me just say that I wasn't fond of the character of Matt Farrell at all. Have John team up with Lucy. That's a movie I'd see. Maybe. Honestly, 4 pretty well killed any interest I have in the franchise beyond the first three films and while this film may be more satisfying to some viewers simply for the violence, I'm still going to call canon discontinuity on this one. If a sixth film ever does get made, I may give it a shot, but only during its TV run. Pass on this one, folks.
